I think that's why the OP is suggesting it as an option, and not mandatory. Some people wouldn't want to switch so this would leave them where they are.
I had suggested the same thing on facebook when I couldn't get into this forum so I emphatically agree.
They have said they won't do a wipe and by this point they probably can't whatever the circumstances. Too many people that bought zen after they said "no wipe" would be hurt.
Granted they said they would merge the servers but they have nothing much invested in that position. They can easily say that based on what happened since they talked about a merger that a merger is no longer the right way to go though it was a good decision at the time.
Heck - let's call it Neverwinter Classic. A wonderful compromise - those that want to stay on the servers with hyperinflation and keep all their gear and currency can - and Gods bless them and may they enjoy it. merge those 3 servers if they want. Those of us that want a beta to end in a traditional way - with a wipe - or that simply want a new economy which may not be screwed up again as quickly if Cryptic has been learning from experience can get what WE want. And best of all - both sets of players will be buying Zen which is all that PW cares about.
I agree, people are missing the point. We need a new challenge for the cheaters, of course they don't have to come if they don't want to.
Unfortunately, you are right. The new server would eventually get taken over by cheaters as well. But to be honest, I just want a fresh server because it would be fun and my motivations have nothing to do with the current cheaters.
I am absolutely behind this idea.
Those of us who would rather start from a clean slate get to do so. More so we get to do so with like minded individuals, might even filter some of the scum exploiters out.
Those who are against a full whipe and would rather hang on to their characters on a broken shard get to do so. Promiss of no further whipes remains unbroken.
It really is a win win.

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention, I guess.
