FYI: There is a place for review requests -- It's NOT HERE.

There is a whole forum for people to post their foundry quests and to ask for reviews:

Foundry Spotlight Forum

I think it would be better for all of our development as quest developers if the useful discussions don't get buried in "OMg PLZ REVIEW 4ME!!1!" posts.

It's also better for those wanting reviews to have a central place for review reciprocity.

I'm sure most people simply don't know better, so why don't we start asking people to please take those posts to the right place? Or flag them for the admin to move?

Do you think we can agree to keep this forum for actual discussion of the foundry?

I think this forum is for "I'm not sure it's all polished and ready for possible feature yet".

To me the spotlight forum is more for the complete, or nearly complete quests. I agree with Kamalicious on this one.

There are less people that post there than here. And I think posting quests and having people offer to review them is a great way to talk about the foundry.

That subforum is for quests that are done, as the two above me said.

Agreed. Spotlight has a lot of "rules" governing it. I am assuming you have not read the Admin sticky at the top.

As someone still developing her first quest, I've found reading the reviews of these beta tests of developing quests to be very helpful. Many times I've gone back and made adjustments on my own maps from reading the insight that others have shared. I'm glad that folks are so helpful and that they are helping through the forums because I wouldn't be able to do that if the suggestions were made solely through the in-game review system.

At this juncture, players need all the help they can get to get their quest seen and played. I get what the OP is saying but I think until Cryptic figures out some way to get quests played this is fine.
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

An improved search filter is about all we can hope for and even that will leave some people's content completely untouched. In CoX the UGC was predominantly used by guilds to share, people in the UGC community and for people to make their own content. I expect nothing more here once the game gets into full swing.

Even if you assume that 10% or less of the player base are active in creating UGC and each one only makes 2 quests that gives players a HUGE selection to choose from. Let's say the game only gets 100k players, that means there would still be over 20,000 UGC missions to choose from. You have to be the one that stands out of a very large crowd. The people I've seen get their feelings hurt the most on these forums are NWN modders who were the "big fish" in a much smaller "pond", now they are just another author who posted a UGC that is indistinguishable from the rest. That doesn't even take into consideration play style differences, between the story tellers and the meat grinders. A mission created to cater to the meat grinders will get considerably more plays as it caters to a larger audience.

I'm not saying that you won't get plays but it is an uphill fight all the way and those who make it to the top will stay there because people will subscribe to them and their new content will get "rollover" plays. No, I have no problem with people getting on these forums and advertising their quest. I encourage them to do so in fact. If you want to get plays you have to stand out.
Do you crave a good old fashioned dungeon crawl? One where the dungeon tells it's own story? The Dungeon Delves campaign is just for you! Start with my first release: NW-DQF4T7QYH Any cave can lead to adventure!

While I'm sure some of the people who said they made something in NWN did, the number of NWN authors I recognize that have a published Foundry quest I can count on one finger. The conversation in the NWN community about Foundry goes like this:
    "So can I..."
    "No."
    "So can I..."
    "No."
    "So can I..."
    "No."
"Ok nevermind, will keep using a proper toolset."

The most hurt have been the "I spent five hundred hours on my quest and everyone's playing Ogre Farm instead of my masterpiece!" people.

I am not having very much luck. A lot of the posts that are R4R end up enjoying my review whilst not returning the favor. Seems legit.

I think I qualify for this statement. Though, Ogre Farm does sound interesting. Do they grow from trees? Or are they legume-like?

The ogres mostly sprout fully grown from barren land, and often next to cliffs.
