I'm pretty sure I don't understand your question.

Your character exist in 3D edit mode and your mapped movement keys work like normal to move your character around.

To move objects, you mouse-over the object, then grab the plane you want to move (x, y, z) and drag it, which will move the object.

Sorry if that doesn't answer your question. I don't really understand what you're asking.

I would like to move the camera while in 3D mode (with plane movement display showing)
(if I press WASD it drops you out if plane editing mode)

Uhm, if you are in "3d" mode, you are playing a char on you map, else you would be in the "2d" editor.
I can se why Mamatank gets confused here...

You obviously have no idea what I'm taking about. In the foundry, when you test you can switch to '3D edit Mode' which allows you to move objects left, right,up,down and adjust the height. I would like to know how to move when you have the 'plane movement widget' open on an item.

You can't. I'd love to be able to, it would increase your freedom of movement and make it far easier to place an item. To add to the list, I'd like the ability to delete part of the pre-made maps, the ability to fly and access to all the objects and menu's in 3D-editing. One day we'll have it all my friend...

Everything in 3D edit mode it tied to the avatar. While you can interact and move objects, you can not move the "camera" freely.

In other words the camera IS your avatar. So if you want to move something you have to move your avatar to it. It sucks yes. Because if you want to interact and move an object that is high off the ground where you can not select it, you have to actually build stairs or something else to get you up to the required height.

If you are trying to move the object you selected by clicking on it when the "plane movement widget" is open, you click-and-hold on one of the axis arrows and move the mouse up/down/left/right and it will shift the object along that axis. Same for rotation -- hit 'e' for rotation, and click on a rotation ring and move the mouse to rotate.

But, the camera/avatar position - can only be moved with w/a/s/d not vertically.
And if you select a "path" or other detail object that your avatar is standing on it will no longer be walkable and you will fall through it.

Well, you've already gotten your answer (you can't), but I'll just go ahead and say it again. You can't, at least not yet.

Yeah Right! just like the STO foundry people have after begging for the last 3 years (Nadda!). Don't expect much more then we have (or don't have) right now. Better than nothing I guess...but not by much..I am SO GLAD I resisted paying any money for this.
