In a previous title of Cryptic, Champions Online...had a powerhouse, an instance where people would go to trainers to upgrade their skills, which would not commit permanently until you had left it. Inside the powerhouse were facilities with mobs and platforms where you could test your skills and try out a build you liked.
You could remove a skill for g in order of acquisition, with each subsequent skill further, it got more expensive.
I believe Neverwinter could benefit from the same mechanics, especially when more choices will come available later in development.
