Is NW a single-player game?

I'm treating this game as a single player game with some co-op options. When we finish quests there are few dungeons to run, those dailies and skirmishes and very, very limited PvP.

So why do people run those dailies/skirmishes/dungeons endlessly after they finish the campaign?

Is there a goal to achieve? Will they get better gear to use in faction wars over territory? Is it just to get better gear so they can say they own it?

People run those dailies to earn Astral Diamonds. Which can then be used to purchase gear. Though with how little the dailies hand out, you're better off running a dungeon, and just making triple the amount of what you can earn out of dailies, simply by selling one item on the Auction House.

As for why do people continue to play the game when the campaign is beat? Well... Why do most people stick around after they clear an Mmorpg's campaign? Everyone has their own reasoning behind this, mine is personally because no good games are out right now that I haven't beaten, or gotten bored of yet. Neverwinter will be put behind me in due time, as soon as I get bored with the Foundry.

If you're looking for a single player game though this is definitely not your "Cup of Tea". While the entire campaign can be run solo, dungeons can not. I would suggest maybe trying to play Guild Wars 2 if you're looking more towards a longer single-player campaign. Guild Wars 2 was definitely fun, alas, I beat the campaign, and with no real updates nor new "Game-changing" content in Guild Wars 2, it just kinda bored me in the end.
