Can you cancel casting a spell somehow?

I often find myself standing in something nasty when fighting bosses, since I haven't yet figured out how to cancel casting a spell.
Casting a spell might take 2-3 seconds and in that time I seem to be unable to move.

Isn't there a way to cancel a cast you've started?
Other games usually cancel casting as soon as you move, but that doesn't seem to be the case in Neverwinter.

    Sry, just started playing, so I have to ask what a "dodge move" is... as a Control Wizard? :)

    Shift+direction.

    You might try the Esc key, too.
