If you have some little experience with mmos, Ill put it this way;
"GWF is the Zerk from Tera".
You know, i've played D&D way, way longer than mmos, and that was my exact thought when i saw the GWF on the character select screen and comments online.
I've pugged with plenty of GWF, and they seemed fine to me, but then i've almost always had leader, and only kick when people DC for too long or go afk without saying anything.
Honestly; if you compare the GWF at lvl44 to that of a rogue of at least equal ability and 5 levels lower, then I agree that you will very much see the rogue a few hundred thousand damage above the second place person. (said GWF...) Said Rogues will also be the first person to rage-quit on a wipe of the final boss. No patience, they have.
Now, my build is a slightly balanced build, so my dps gap started widening at a greater rate around lvl 39, but I do very much survive longer then the other classes during the boss fight. (unless I fudge up of course.) Now that I've got an OP shadowfel sword again, I expect the gap to remain at around 2mil for the rogue and 1.7mil-1.8mil for me; in a group that is actually working together. (no CW's blowing the mobs away just before you can hit your encounter.)
fyi, I'm currently criting at 5837 for my top single target damage, with an average across abilities of roughly 2.8k crits. So yes, I can dish out 10k damage every 8 seconds or so, with a 15k cycle of 20-30 if I can aoe up my AP quickly.
Are you a moron? My level 20 rogue, yes 20. Does more damage and takes out targets faster than my level 48 GWF in level 46+ gear. You might say but GWF is made for AOE. I would agree, but my level 20 rogue takes out GROUPS faster than my 48 GWF AND does MORE damage. Kinda sad?
Not to mention GWF are totally useless in PVP. Try soloing a rogue or CW. LOL.
And you are critting 5k+? Take a screenshot or I call total BS, HIGHEST crit I ever saw on my 48 GWF was around 2200. So screenshot, or you're talking major BS.
Comments
GL killing the final boss w.o doing that tho
it might 'say 9200' but anyone thats done it knows a gwf wont survive it especially at that GS
i play a 12k gs sentinel GWF with 26k hp and 50% damage resistance with my acolyte out and I still got 1hko
