Murgal Mawcram sitting the entire time I was killing him

I think this happened because I saw there was a part of the cave I hadn't explored, so I went back and finished exploring. When I came back he was sitting, which I expected him to stand up and he didn't. He just took the punishment throughout the entire fight only standing up a few times and sitting back down again.
