tl;dr - Please play nw-dtwo4wgfi and give feedback

Heya Folks,

I made a small quest that I would love some feedback on. This is my first attempt, so all feedback is welcome.

There is one known issue that I am trying to resolve: When you exit the first map the quest disappears from your journal. Log out and back in and the quest will reappear. As soon as I figure out how to fix that I'll publish a fixed version. I apologize for an inconvenience.

Quest ID: nw-dtwo4wgfi
Quest name: Frinko's Bad Day

Short Description: Small starter quest with one puzzle and some combat. All skillsets can be used at least once. Suitable for solo or duo play with companion. Tested with champions up to level 30. Non-DPS Clerics may need to bring a friend.

I am looking for feedback on the following:
What level and class did you play through with?
How long did it take you to complete the quest?
Was the combat too hard, too easy, just right?
What did you think of the dialog?
What did you think of the puzzle?
What did you think of the boss fights?
Did you encounter any bugs? (bad spelling, objects stuck in walls, could not complete quest, etc)

Thnks,
Rolf

    Solo level 23 TR

Overall I liked it. Helping a bumbling guard is a standard rpg trope and this is fine. It's not "epic!", the quest and environments are not complex but you said in the quest description it's meant as an intro quest and this seemed like an appropriate quest for low level heroes. The areas were plain but as I said its seemingly meant for low levels, so this is appropriate. I did not feel that the areas were under-decorated, which I sometimes feel from Foundry quests. You took Frinko's odd name and gave him a bumbling personality that matches the name. Since I felt it matched what you said you were trying to do, and you did a competent job of it, I rated it well. I gave a max tip to encourage you to make more Frinko stories. I would willingly do this quest again with a low level character for some appropriate low level role playing.

Yes, I ran into the journal/transition bug. It's a Cryptic bug, not your fault.

There was an solo enemy in the house before the house was robbed.
Frink says "she like the criminal types"-> likes
The traps in the sewers are floating and need to be sunk into the floor.
Wasn't sure what the undead encounter was doing in between the robber encounters. It didn't make logical sense. It was also a stacked encounter, which normally you don't want to do because of the difficulty scaling unless it's a boss encounter. Other than that I felt the difficulty was right.
A few encounters in the sewers spawn enemies as you approach. I wasn't crazy about that, if only because of how Cryptic makes them pop up from the ground.

Thanks for the feedback and the tip. They are both very appreciated!

I'm glad you liked the quest and "got it". It's designed to be the type of adventure one might play at level 2 or 3 in regular pen and paper.

I put the undead in just to mix things up a bit. You're right that it doesn't actually make any thematic sense though. Replaced with rebels.

Fixed the solo mob. I forgot to chain him to the whistle. Good catch.

Fixd the typo as well, I thought I had caught most of them. I'll probably start doing the dialog in Word and then copy/paste to the foundry.

    Traps lowered a bit.

I noticed that the bosses spawn when you approach and I'm not sure why. I'll dig into that. Maybe because they are linked to quest objectives? I've tried to get them to spawn immediately but no love. There's only two options that I can choose "Immediately" and "Objective in Progress". Regardless of which I set, she jumps up from the ground when you approach. I'll start a new thread on that, might be a bug.

By the by, if I can figure out all the kinks my intention is to follow this up with "Frinko's Bad Night" (Basic gist: You and Frinko go out drinking to get that beer he owes you, danger ensues. Gonna try an escort quest and an outdoor area to test those mechanics.)
