[BUG] Companion - Damage not scaling to stats

My level 15 wayward wizard I decided to put in some level 5 Empowered stones. Three slots. According to the mouse over it is suppose to increase the damage *increase damage and healing* however this is not the case. My wayward wizard does just as much damage with three level 5 empowered runestones as he does with no runestones.
So now I have to waste more astral diamonds to unslot them as the runestones are worthless. I am not even sure if any runestone would work. As it seems stats do not work on the wayward wizard.
So should I wait for this to be fixed or is it working as intended with runestones not doing anything useful for this companion?
