Thanks for Hotenow

I want to say how much I enjoyed soloing Hotenow last night, This was the first zone in the game that I didn't feel like I was on autopilot. The hellish landscape, the sadistic design, and the screams of agony in chat made me so happy. It is really hilarious to see what happens when the sheep lose their glowy trail to lead them around by the hand and have to actually put forth some effort or use their brains. When people constantly spam chat LFG for solo content, I knew this was the zone for me lol. I dub thee "popcorn" zone! Was also some LoTRO nostalgia in Duergar Stronghold- the music sounded like it was copypasted right from the old game. Thanks for this zone devs, was fun.

I solo'd Hotenow, was I supposed to have difficulties there or something?

I haven't yet arrived at Hotenow, but I'm glad that you are able to turn off the glowy trail in this game. I hate when games patronize me by trying to hold my hand. Hell, if there was an option for me to turn off maps / quest targets all together and have everything given to me in details and then cryptic told me to get a pencil and some graph paper... I might just have to hug them.

Of course, the glowy trails isn't always accurate. I'd suggest some quests where the glowy trails intentionally leads to traps (it already occasionally leads to dead ends currently). And not just the simple "don't step on the floor" traps, but complex ones like getting ambushed if you pull that switch.

I know which quest you're mentioning, you just need to turn around...

I died a lot in that area, but that's because it's a bit hard for a GWF to deal with all that burst and AoE. Needed a party for the last boss. But anyways, was fun. :)

You may enjoy Whispering Caverns too, the next area.

    - Lady Rowanne Firehair, Heartwarder of Sune (Lvl 33 DC)

The Stronghold boss was the tough one for me. Took me quite a few tries and swapping skills, but the zone felt very rewarding to solo overall. Playing as CW, so maybe not as hard as other classes. If I roll an alt I want to take the weakest (GWF? GF?).
