External scripts/internal web browser? *Just ideas*

I thought I'd throw a few ideas out there that I've seen in other MMOs. I don't recall which one it was, but there was a tab you could click and literally open up a web browser in the game to go to their forum. The browser had an address bar and you could go to anything you wanted. I thought this would be great for players like me that tab over to look at the Neverwinter Gamepedia for info, or just for browsing the forums.

Another idea was scripts. I've seen them in WoW before, and I'm not talking about crazy extensions like "quickest levelers" or whatnot. I am just interested in making a script to allow music controls in the corner of the game. Either your default media player, some streaming site, Youtube, it doesn't matter. It would just be cool to do so. I'm sure that there would be a way without Cryptic allowing the use of external scripts (or having media controls like not running the game full-screen or using keyboard keys) but I thought it'd be cool to open the game up to developers in a separate way from just the Foundry.

Does anyone agree with me, or have anything to add to this conversation? I'm just tossing up a few ideas.
