Alright, your quest is reviewed, I really liked it, I'm not going to lie. I found it engaging and well written, there are a few minor things I noticed: hope you don't think my pointing them out is reflection of the work, it is not.

Early on, one your quest objectives is talk to Mercinaries instead of Mercenaries. Minor, but its noticeable when it flashes across the screen in bright yellow.

When you first talk to Aruken, check the dialogue, its a little rough in places.

And finally, instead of a straight door to the sewers (which would be running directly behind the house) - how about a trapdoor, or if that's not feasible, go the extra step and make the basement map between house and sewers, put a guard or two next to the entrance (to keep baddies out), if you want- that open the entrance to the sewer (which could be a door now as that would make sense) or whatever. Otherwise, awesome. Awesome adventure.

    Really really loved it.

    Review of it:
Was it supposed to be Sarasha and her sister Sarasha? Or did I misread that?
Great use of some of the mechanics, like when following the guy from afar
Fights were good. Great use of easy, standard, hard fights, especially for a solo player.
    The bad:
There was allot of dead space, perhaps you could shorten the size of it, or fill the space with details. Someone once
told me, "you have 1500 detail budget, use more of that"...

All in all it was a good story, the only killer was the dead space especially in the mines. Was good.

Thank you for the kind words. I had thought of putting an actual cellar there, but thought it seemed redundant....but if it takes away from the fell of it, I will gladly go back and change that.

And thank you for the typo point out, those are always hard to spot!

As far as Aruken's dialogue, I will have to read it through again. He's supposed to be very new in his position and is always nervous of HAMSTER up, so, I will make sure it's polished!

Yes, I worked on the tunnels a lot and wanted to put more combat in there. My concern was that for the next two quests in this 10-part epic you are fighting JUST the cultists, and I didn't want to do too much. I also want to gear it more for groups with really good players being able to solo it, and with only having just hit 18 on my main, I don't really know how tough some of the combat is at higher levels.

Yes, Sarahsa and her twin sister Sarasha. They are characters created by my wife and play a HUGE part further in the story, stay tuned ;).

I am looking to use the mechanics a lot more in further quests. Since we can't do cinematics, this is the next best thing. I have found some really great ways to do a few things, but I don't want to spoil any secrets....let's just say, it's already built, but the final quest has a very epic, raid-like feel to it thanks to some interesting use of mechanics...again, stay tuned!

I went in your dungeon & liked it. My review:
Perhaps add a way out of the dungeon at the beginning. I'm telling everyone this for good measure since I got stuck in one dungeon.
The story was good. I'd like to see the end be more of a "cliffhanger" since it's to be continued.
The combat was nice and steady throughout the dungeon but perhaps a bit easy.
I like the transitions between maps since it feels like your moving around. It looks like you used some pre-made maps though rather than crafted.

The only map I used that was pre-made was Blacklake (and, the house was premade, but it was the noble house, I closed it off and made it look run-down.) The headquarters at the beginning, the sewers and the tunnels were all custom made.

I was worried the combat would be too difficult, but it sounds like it's the opposite! After a few more reviews, I may have to ramp it up some!

I had a lot of fun going through this quest. I liked the level of polish and the varied enemies. I also liked the captives hidden away, a neat detail. I freed three of them. The combat was a little too easy (up until the very end), but it was very enjoyable. I liked the dialogue too and it made things a little interesting. At least enough for me to come back for more. Overall, good job man.

I ran through on my 45 guard. I only ended up using one potion with my cleric companion in tow. So it ~could~ easily be cranked up a bit, but I wouldn't add to any of the fights with multiple assassins in them. (For some reason more than 3 of those suckers are down right annoying for me) but a lot of the little mobs could be upped no problem.

I wrote down a few things as I was going, and here they are in chronological order.

-First, I believe the gate which you use the key on in the sewer is still called "Gate Door 01" when you go to click on it.

-If you wanted, the sewer area would be a good place for a few traps (especially the poison gas traps since its a sewer.) You don't HAVE to, just a thought. And perhaps some at or near the beginning of the hideout, so as to try to keep unwanted visitors out of their base.

-The room with the pit down into the base has nothing in it. It kind of stood out since you have clutter in almost every other place (though the tunnels could use some more too!)

-I think? the captives say "Thank you kind sir" when you free them? (Not positive, as the second window closed very quickly, so I only caught a glimpse) While this is definitely something they would say, my female dwarf would like to point out that she does not in fact have a beard. (If it doesn't say that, ignore me on this point! XP)

-When you find Cevon in the tunnels it says Grats Bro! Which is funny, but is in stark contrast to your rather serious story? Keep it if you want, it just sticks out a little.

-The first map of Blacklake you have these nice invisible walls up so you don't/can't go wandering all around the map, but after you come OUT of the tunnels, this is not the case, and you can roam the map freely, which isn't horrible, but I figured since you blocked them in the first part, you'd want to block it off in the second part.

All in all, it was a logical, easy to follow story line, and well written. Sadly, for some reason when I finished, it didn't give me a review window, but once I got back to town and opened up the jobs board again it popped up and disappeared instantly. So I didn't get to give you a star rating. =\

    Edit:Also, yeah, the captives are hard to miss, their chat bubbles pop up on the map if you open it. ^^;

Thank you everyone, again, for the kind words! The story get's MUCH deeper than it is now, and while it doesn't play much into actual Realms lore (though, a few things are mentioned) it does have a deep story that dates back thousands of years.

For thsoe who are not on the list yet for my playthroughs, I will add you soon. I need to actually get in game and play some now to get some of them out of the way!

Yup, that seals it. Adding more mobs soon! I will probably stack some more of the easy mobs, I don't want it to be too difficult, though, as the difficulty in later quests will ramp up some.

Good call. I thought of having some traps in there as well. I do need to polish the sewers (as well as the tunnels) up a little more. That will be some stuff I do moving forward.
-The room with the pit down into the base has nothing in it. It kind of stood out since you have clutter in almost every other place (though the tunnels could use some more too!)

Yes, it will have stuff in it, I just wanted to make sure the actual encounter was working correctly for everyone first!
-I think? the captives say "Thank you kind sir" when you free them? D'oh! Didn't think of that. I'm used to having MOSTLY male toons, so, yeah, good call! I will fix that up!
-When you find Cevon in the tunnels it says Grats Bro! Which is funny, but is in stark contrast to your rather serious story? Keep it if you want, it just sticks out a little.

Whoops! When I was testing some of the stuff down there, I had to name a place marker something, and I was tired, so that's what it was....looks like I forgot to change that...good eye!

Yes, another oversight on my part. I will get those added. I don't want people wandering around blacklake going "WTF do I go?!"

I did find some hostages. That was a neat little thing. It would be nice if there could be some rewards for things like that but I'm sure it would get exploited in a hurry.

I don't know if I found them all though. There was a girl & 1 or 2 others all together in a corner.

    @Shorlong

I gave your quest a go and left a review. =)

I enjoyed it overall, as my review says. One tiny thing though, not sure if others have brought it up, is there a way to stop encounters from attacking NPCs? Like with your hostages. I had that problem too, so I might just stick and invisible wall around the NPC. Anyway, keep up the good work. Hope to get some feedback from you of my quests as well. Cheers.

Invisible walls around the NPC is exactly what I used. Just have the trigger to make them disappear be the death of that group of enemies, and all is well!

I started dirty politics. It sounds like a good set up for a story. Unfortunately I ran into a problem early on. The sparkly guide led me to the initial character in protector's enclave near the construction. The problem was it wouldn't let me interact with him or speak to him. I tried coming at him from different angles and it wouldn't let me interact with him. I had to stop the quest at that point. Just thought I'd let you know...

Please check out my quest 'Ye old chuckle hut', Code NW PQ1PGH6HW
It's protectors enclave's 1st comedy tavern complete with the ability to heckle, bar fights, ways to inflict judgement on the worst humorists and a human sacrifice of the worst comedian at the end of the show. I think you'll like it.

Having just played the quest today I think the guide was sending you to a door somewhere behind the NPC. I could be wrong though, but that's how I remembered it =)
