How to use auction?

I found one nice cheap item, bidded it, waited and watched for it during last 50 minutes (refreshed the page from time to time), i saw that the time was out, and my bid was on the top. After 5 minutes, i still saw line "time to end: -5 minutes" and i still was the last bidder.

After 20 minutes, i re-loggined and saw that someone else had bought that item.

Wtf? Should i re-login every 10 seconds during last minutes or what? :(

    Same thing happens on any online auction.

    If someone has put up something good at a low starting bid, then yes, someone else my very well put in a bid at the last second.

    Somebody can rebid item in last second - that's part of the rules, i agree.

    But shouldnt auction provide realtime data presentation?

    If someone would rebid 2 secons before finish, i'd still have a chance to rebid in very last second. Or, at least, i'd know the result in the next few seconds. But now its freakin offline mode: i should relogin to know the resut, what a hell...
