A Note from the Author - 5/23/2013

Early in development, I spent a majority of my time creating building the atmosphere of the maps. I spent a lot of time wiggling bushes into place and dressing up the sets. With that in mind, the map looks best on max settings.

As for the story, it wasn't until I received some good feedback that the story felt non-existent and it was clear that I needed to give it the same detail as I was giving my maps. So, I dug in and really fleshed out the characters, their back-stories, and even some side content to really give the player that wants the story a chance to go out and seek it.

Through testing and reviews, I received comments that it was taking an hour to play through my map. In response, I didn't want to bend completely. I understood the quest I was building was going to be large with almost enough content for two quests.

To help players out, I started tuning down combat. I gave players some special routes to avoid some combat. And on top of that, I stretch some story to give the players a quick teleport to skip some travel in my second to last map.

End of the day, I really enjoyed using the foundry to make this map. I hope you enjoy playing and reading the story as much as I enjoyed making it.

I really hope you check it out. Thank you for playing.

A Special Thanks:

Reviewers @ash4ll, @flampoint, @kamaliicious and The OMGWTF Guild
and all those who gave feedback, constructive or not.

I would also like to thank the many of you here on the foundry forums.
Especially @Tilt42, @zovya, @gillrmn, @gemstrike, @boydzinj, @izatar and many more!
Even if we didn't exchange directly, your wisdom on these forums has been an integral part of my development process. Thank you!

And all those at Cryptic for making yet another an amazing game. COH/COV/CO <3

Be sure to check out quests from everyone listed above!

Thank you all and happy questing,

    Solo 19 TR.

The maps are interesting, though I'm biased as several of them reminded me of things I did in my published quests, to the point your first pic almost looks like it could have come from my first quest. Anyway I'm sure it took a long time to build them as there is a lot of things that could only realistically be done via the 3d editor. There are jumping puzzles required for the story.

I don't adjust my vote based on whether I like a story or not unless it's obvious there was no effort put into it. You did put effort into it, though I personally didn't care for it. The jumping sections didn't really make sense from a story perspective, they're kind of stuck in there because you could. I'm personally sick of seeing ogres, including reskinned ones. Ogres provide zero challenge for a TR, you can kill easily them without taking a hit.

I couldn't tip you as I've already hit the tip limit for the day. I rated this 4 stars based on more interesting environments than the typical quest.

New update with more to come. I put together a silly fetch quest at the end and lower the difficulty on some of the fights for higher levels.

"Go At Sea" is a bizarre construction of English that will turn off many people--I wouldn't even give it a chance.

Also, your mission summary sentence "Join Kail and Clyve on a wayward errand sends our heroes to discover the sinister goblin plot and save the Courtesans of the Moonstone Mask" is not proper English.

If you can't be bothered to use proper sentences, why should I be bothered to play your quest?

First off, I'm not sure what you mean. I am using what I think would be Goblin common vernacular for 'go to sea.' Secondly, I tend to write how I speak. Even if it may be very poorly.

I highly respect your contributions to the community and I am sorry you feel this way about my work.

Edit: Lol. Actually, thank you for catching my mistake. It was late and I wanted to submit my quest to Cryptic before I left on my trip.

I am upset because I take your criticism very seriously. I've watched your foundry demonstration video and it has helped me create this foundry quest.

Edit #2: I just understood what you meant about the name and I don't read it that way. In fact, I wish you had not mentioned it as such image is nowhere close to my intentions nor my views. I hope that it is your intention to constructively criticize and not distort the perception around my quest.

I appreciate your input regarding my sentence construction error. I assure you and others, while rushing to market, I was more concerned with the content in my quest than the catch on the cover. There's no sense in worrying about it. Life's too short.

Yes, I am trying to be constructive.

Players do not know that your title is supposed to be 'goblin vernacular' since they haven't played the quest yet, they will just assume you are not a native english speaker and probably choose not to play your quest. This is because reading quest text is very tiring, and trying to make sense of broken english is just too much effort, so they will pick ones that seem easy to understand.
