Rather than make a new post for every quest I thought I would start a campaign thread and update it as needed.

Campaign: A Hero's Tale

Growing up as a child you heard of your father's adventures and tales of his heroism. Now the time has come for you to make your own mark on the world, to step out of your father's shadow and into your own legacy.

Just by name alone many people know of you, and that is not always a good thing.

This adventure has quests for a single player and groups. Please read each quest description before embarqing upon your missins to determine whether you should face it alone or bring your friends.

I have worked very hard to complete this campaign and I would like reviews. I will update it as needed to fix bugs and make the adventure better before submitting it as a feature.

Dialogue: Medium
Combat: Solo or Group Medium to Hard
Time: Each quest should be 20 minutes to 1 hour in length to complete.

Quest 1: The Sins Of The Father
Please hold off, update to fix bugs will be published on 5/15. I have workarounds ready but have asked PWE to look at the bugs to help all of us get some things fixed.

Story: Mild, most at beginning
Combat: Medium, short dungeon crawl.
Players Suggested: 1
Approx Time: 15-20 minutes

Shortcode: NW-DLN6BC8NX
Handle: @narathkor
Campaign: A Hero's Tale

You have recieved a communication that tells you that you are in great danger. You should meet Jerry the Hurler at once. He was one of your father's company of heros back in his adventuring days. He can be found at the Lost Luck Tavern.

No Screenshot available for this quest.
Known Issues:
Cave door requires you to click on the text to travel after pressing F.
Some map transitions need text changed from Press F to Go to Next Map
When leaving the Orc Area, the quest tends to drop. You need to relog 2 to 3 times sometimes exit game completely to get it back.
The sparkle trail after leaving the orc area leads to a npc near the door, look to the left of the npc to find the door.

I have fixes prepared for the issues but giving PWE some time to look into it. Will publish update to fix either way on 5/15/2013

Quest 2: A Name For Yourself
Please review/test/comment

Story: Heavy
Combat: Medium to Hard
Players Suggested: 1-2
Approx Time: 30-45 minutes

Shortcode: NW-DRBWMCFL4
Handle: @narathkor
Campaign: A Hero's Tale

After dealing with your father's past, it is time to set off and make a name for yourself. You seek to be your own hero, create your own mark in the world. You have heard of the troubles in the Blacklake District and it is time to head there to see if you can be of service. There is a once noble family who remains in the Blacklake District that seeks aid in keeping what is theirs.

Hints: When entering the council hall, let the guards grab up the agro and start picking off mobs, place your AOE carefully because if you agro all the mobs and peel them off the guards your head will likely roll. This fight is made for you to think not to hack and slash your way through.

    Feedback for quest one:

The first tavern needs some light, above the chandeliers try placing the orange light source, it should help a lot. Also instead of blocking the stairs with a fence try putting some drunk patrons there, or a guard and block it off with an invisible wall so that it just looks like they are in the way.

When talking to Jerry the Hurler, try adding some emote text. It would help add emotion to the conversation. Especially since he knew my father, and is looking at me fondly I am assuming by the dialogue.

For the campfire inside the inn, try adding FX_campfire under it, it will give the respawn campfire a campfire glow and really adds to the atmosphere =)

First impression on the cave, awesome, good use of details! Only thing I would like to see is webs near where the spiders are just to add more flavor. Not needed, personal opinion. I love the cave as it is right now. Combat in the cave became a little repetitive though I think. I play a Guardian Fighter, so it takes the tank a little bit to kill through all those mobs. Not a bad thing if you need the time sink to hit the 15 minutes though.

I am jealous that y our sound fx were working lol. I loved the frogs. Seriously though the cave is a beautiful map.

I am writing this review as i play through so i am just jotting things down in this post as i play.

Oh I ran into a bug that made it so i couldnt finish.... when i clicked on the cave door, it opened and hid itself, so now I can't get to the next map.

A story driven quest, with a fun and challenging amount of combat, that takes you into the world of Planescape, carefully hand crafted by me.

Yeah the cave door is one of the bugs that needs to be fixed. I have workarounds/fixes for everything ready to publish just waiting till 5/15 as I have asked PWE to look into them so that they can fix stuff like that for everyone's benefit.

Thanks for the suggestions those are exactly what I want. The second quest takes a big longer but you can actually finish it.

I am actually thinking about redoing the first one all together using some new things that I have learned along the way, just to make it more polished, and have some more interactivity along the combat part.

I was going to publish the update to quest 1 today but I am not sure I am going to. I am so discouraged by the choice of a herpaderp slash and hack for foundry spotlight that I may just take a break from foundry until they publish this huge update they have been promising, choose new foundry features, and spotlight a quest that actually took more than a day to make.
