Hey guys, I decided to create a twink very soon and figured out that the GWF might be the class i'd like to play.
I'm aiming for a max damage Halforc GWF and i'm pretty unsure how i should roll my stats.
As I wanna do damage there are actually only 2 possibilities:
18 str / 13 dex / 13 con / 10 int / 10 cha / 8 wis
and
16 str / 16 dex / 12 con / 10 int / 10 cha / 10 wis
I'm actually expecting answers like 'You will crit more often with more dex and you will hit harder with str', but that's not what i want to hear. I'd like to see some numbers and facts.
Thank You

16/16 is your sweetspot.
STR is worth 1.06% overall damage per stat point. Dex is worth .9% overall damage per stat point (.95% if you are a Half Orc). Needless to say 16/16 (11.76%) beats 18/13 (10.28%). If you use Vorpal for your weapon enchant it will actually swing DEX as superior to STR for overall damage but we don't know if Vorpal is best for a GWF.
The +1 Con that the 18 STR roll gets will not get anywhere near close enough to closing the gap between 11.76 vs 10.28.

16/16 is the clear winner.
