My apologies in advance if this question has already been asked, but does anybody know of any information on plans for an eventual Alignment system? If so, links? Thanks.
This game is based on 4e D&D, where alignment was ... well... almost completely removed. 9 alignments were reduced to 5 (but only 3 playable), and they removed all consequences for violating / changing alignment.
If they put alignment into this game, it likely will have absolutely no effect. Also, if you've noticed some of the quests you need to complete have your character doing things that would clearly violate most allowed alignment choices anyway.

Meh, true enough. What a good waste of Neverwinter lore.

I can totally imagine, though, alignments playing a part in Foundry quests (or added quests in the future). I noticed that some conversation choices in the Foundry need a specific "skill" to be activated. Perhaps it could be coded like NWN1/2 wherein you lose or gain alignment points depending on the choice? Yeah sure, there's not much functionality to it, but its D&D christ, we have an origin that plays no function except for a title, shouldn't that be an acceptable case for alignments as well? Like say, an Evil Wizard would have a title called "Revenant" or somesuch.
