18/13/13 or 16/16/12?

So i'd like to start playing TR and i'd like to have the perfect roll.

I tried to do the maths:

Let's say we got a damage of 1000, just because it's easier to calculate with. We are a Halforc going full str/dex, so the lvl 60 rolls will be 26/21/15 and 24/24/14. We did skill Overrun Critical, so our critical severity is multiplied with 4/3.

30%/28% critchance, 80%*4/3 severity:

26/21/15
damage=1000+110 (21str)+50 (15cha, only if CA)
so, with crits it should be: 1160+1160*0.8*4/3*30/100 = 1531,2

we do the same for 24/24/14 now:
1180+1180*0.8*4/3*28/100 = 1532,43

As we can see, the damage of 24/24/14 is actually higher, but as TRs got 105% crit severity most of the time, we gonna do it again:

30%/28% critchance, 105%*4/3 severity:

26/21/15
1160+1160*1.05*4/3*30/100 = 1647,2

24/24/14
1180+1180*1.05*4/3*28/100 = 1642,56

As we can see, 26/21/15 seems to be better here, but we WILL NOT have 105% crit severity for 100% of the time, also 30% crit chance seems to be to low.
Here we go:

50%/48% critchance, 80%*4/3 severity:

26/21/15
1160+1160*0.8*4/3*50/100 = 1778,67

24/24/14
1180+1180*0.8*4/3*48/100 = 1784,16

24/24/14 deals about 0,3% more damage here, let's try it with 105% severity

50%/48% critchance, 105%*4/3 severity:

26/21/15
1160+1160*1.05*4/3*50/100 = 1972

24/24/14
1180+1180*1.05*4/3*48/100 = 1972,96

At this point the damage of 24/24/14 is still higher and as the crit chance could go higher than 50%/48% and we won't have 105% severity all the time, i would actually say 24/24/14 is better.

What i didn't took care of in my calculations are the several damage boni we get through feats, as i don't know how they stack up and this is also the reason why i created this post.

Do you think 26/21/15 will do more damage with the damage boni of feats?

DISCLAIMER: Me and my calculations do not claim nor proof that 26/21/15 is better than 24/24/14 or that 24/24/14 is better than 26/21/15. They are only speculations.

    Fun little theorycrafting.

Here's one idea though: I find it best to analyse and crunch number if I have the end result of where I'm going in mind.

So you'd probably be better off making a much bigger model, where you factor in all the traits and the AP gain to trigger dailies (a major part of DPS). Also, gear-wise, not every mix of stats is possible, but there are different ways to go.

E.g.: CHA goes a long way in stealth builds / STR does wonders in PvP builds / DEX is fun for PvE Executioner.
But if you factor in "Recovery" -> AP and refreshes go down, which might be useful for crit-builds. (DEX becomes better)
If you go into armor pen, you're better off with STR, to pump hard numbers.
If you use stealth skills, CHA is great. If you don't, STR is better.

+ some mechanics are either broken, or are unclear

If you're gonna Half-Orc, might as well spec into 24-24-14 and go non-crit (lose the severity trait) in my opinion, sounds cooler.

First of all i'd like to thank you for the advice.
Well, actually i'd like to play with Recovery and less with Armorpen and yeah I'd like to play the PvE Executioner.
Good point you got there with the Action Skills. Even if i don't know how Str and Lurker's Assault stack, yet i think that dex would be better because of Lurker's Assault now.

    Am I right? Any thoughts?
