This fight is way overtuned for a single player + companion

The companions die in 3 hits and characters not much longer after.

If you are below the quest level, forget trying the fight.

Either flag the quest as a group quest or tune it down.

I just did this fight about an hour ago on a 26 GF and I had a blast. The challenge was just fine for a GF. I had the cleric companion and she got hit twice and only lost about 10 percent health (judging from the green bar under the portrait). I never used a pot either. Unrelated note: the music during the fight was rather decent and fit the pirate-ey theme.

This is the pirate guy in the basement of some ruins, right?

Just did him last night on my wizard at 24 (leveled to 25 when turning the quest in), with the tank companion. It went fairly well. My one gripe was that he is immune to any control effects, essentially rendering my entire build useless. Stacks of Chill (a wizard thing) just disappear as soon as they're applied. I ended up relying on my (not crappy, but not great) DPS to whittle him down. Companion died when he was at about 1/4 health, and I finished him off with lots of dodging. I think I used two potions during the thing, the few times I missed a dodge.

So basically, he's not too bad - if you know what you're doing with your class. I've got a fair bit of gaming experience so I am used to that sort of fight, and as such maybe it seemed easier for me than others. I just wish I could have at least gotten stacks of chill on him (even if he never froze, that debuff is a big part of my rotation).

I've seen harder solo bosses than Jareth Grim but it maybe a class thing. I hear he is rather immune to status effects and does a lot of damage but as I play cleric those are things that don't generally bother me TOO much. I'd imagine that TR and GF also don't have major problems with that either.

My TR is my only character to beat him.

My cleric with man at arms companion cannot heal the companion fast enough.

My GF with cleric companion gets HAMSTER as the cleric stands to fracking close to me and gets wasted by his AoE

oh man. if you guys are having issues with jareth you had better hit 60 and stop caring about quests long before you do whispering caverns.

I didn't have too much trouble as a GWF....

Me neither.. and that's saying a lot, considering how... uh.. "strong" GWFs are at that level.

Using a tank companion for that fight is just silly. AI won't ever dodge and the guy hits like a truck. The player, on the other hand...

I just beat this guy with my lvl 24 CM... took me three tries because I've been coasting through up to now and never really had to learn to dodge, but I got him, using only a couple health pots :) Shield helps, like the others said tank companion went down in the early going, so it's all about the teleport.

My only problem with him is the same problem I have with nearly every mob in the game and dodge.

The fact that they all have these instant dmg hits that you can't possibly dodge, and the fact that dodge is clunky as hell and you can't always dodge immediately because so many attack animations lock you for like 0.3 seconds and when you're spammed with incoming big hits you will either be hit, or just do no dmg because you can just run around and not get hit by any of them.

Don't even understand why dodge exists then...

Never found him that much of a problem on either my GWF or DC; both ran mission at 24 iirc... Just gotta keep mobile and timing his big hits.

it's not epeen. you'll understand when you are ambushed by a 5 pack of brain dogs in whispering caverns while trying to drop an illithid mastermind for a quest.

    Intellect devourers and Masterminds. *shudder*
GWF 60 with t2 armour and still those fights can take me down if I don't move right.

As for OT, Jareth fight was hard, but doable. I think some of the miniboss fights just hit you wrong for your playstyle. I know I died 4-5 times to a giant icewolf thing at about 35-45 and no one else seems to struggle with him.

It's the last quest area in the game and it shows. You'll die a lot if you're used to tanking everything with pot-spam.

Also, have a patrol of Intellect Devourers while you're fighting that Mastermind and his minions...

Rimehound needs a decent amount of tactics to handle and it can kill you quickly if you mess up.

As far as Jareth goes, the OP needs to learn to dodge when Jareth disappears, as that means he's teleporting behind you to slash.
