Why is there a potion that heals 250HP?

What is the point of the Potion of Weak Healing? You get given enough potions in the early levels to not need to buy any and when you get to the point where you need to buy potions +250HP is pretty useless. They don't even drop as well I think.
Anyone have a clue to why they were even put into the game?
