Drow skin color, question for drow players

I recall there used to be a post about this but I cannot find it.
I noticed that drow npcs, both found in game world and foundry editor have brown skin. On the other hand I am sure I saw some Neverwinter artwork and pictures where they have that classic purple, gray thing.
I know that brown skin was used in both dnd influenced art, anime and various book covers. Still feels kinda wrong to be honest. The other look is way more interesting to me.
At the moment you can use normal elf and color it brown to make a dark elf but I wonder are player drow same brown tone or the purple/gray ones?
