I, like many others it seems, am trying to have an NPC follow you for a short bit, and maybe help out with combat. The only guard encounter I can find with a single individual though is the easy melee. Obviously if they get hit like twice they die, and I've found respawning them after the fight just looks clunky, especially if the player saw where the Guard died.
So is there possibly a tougher choice? Or are we stuck with this for now?

Found a solution. So it is a little sloppy but I was having a similar issue with hostile mobs I needed just one hostile mob to appear at the end of a dialogue chain but wanted something tougher than a drow assassin. So what I did was choose a harder encounter with multiple mobs and just moved all the extra mobs to another corner of the map where they would be out of the way. You could put them in a box where they cannot interact with the rest of your quest or maybe have them locked up in prison cells and rescue them along the way, or set them to engage in combats that you encounter later on. With my extra hostile mobs I'll re-skin them as hostile animals and scatter them throughout the forest.
You can do into detailed mode and just delete the extra mobs. My question is, what is the hardest single guard unit?
huh? The "Delete" button has always been grayed out for me when I looked into doing that. Can anybody else confirm this works? Maybe only with certain encounters?
