I've been wondering this, the game looks really easy to play, but ever since lv 35 none of the pug groups could finish a dungeon. And it's not like we were close either. Our group tickled mad dragon, and after like 6-7 tries the best my wolf den group could do is bring the boss to 55%. Is this normal or is this me?
Seems like theres a huge difficulty spike.. which I don't mind if it wasn't for the fact that I'm naturally just outleveling the dungeons which is laaaame! Couldn't even do idris, I just simply outleveled it by the time I got my quest.
I would say 50/50.
been in a few that were kick ***, but also been in a few that had me pulling my hair out.

at level 60 there seems to be a 90% chance someone will randomly leave the group before the run ends leaving you unable to finish. this is without anyone dying. people just randomly leave all the time for some reason. last 6 pugs I've gone to have had a member leave for no reason at all.

My experience has been pugs suck. pugs always suck, but they seem to suck worse in this game than anywhere else I've ever seen.
Everyone focuses in with tunnel vision on the boss, leaving all adds to jump the cleric. No one talks, it's just the worst run through the dungeon as quickly as you can fests that I've ever seen. Then you get to the boss, and the cleric insta dies because no one helps handle the adds.
I haven't had any trouble so far. The time I got in a group with 4 rogues wasn't that fun though.

Generally not a problem. I would say the worst was the pick up group that missed Throg in the Cloak Tower. I and another Control Wizard took him. Frankly it is the first and only time I've ever tanked a boss. Thank you not something I ever want to do again. But we eventually finished him off and then chased the rest of the party down just as they got to the last gather point. Meh.
But overall the PUGS I've been in have been good.

i just finished the grey wolf on the 4th run with a PUG team, and after we died on first attempt. Was not a great group, tho we were 2 lvl 43 healers and we all died several times on boss, so even if we killed the boss i won't call it a sucess
I was in a group tonight that defeated Mad Dragon on our 2nd attempt. We were a random PUG, and I think we would of done it the first time if it wasn't for the Cleric D/C... It was my first time doing the dungeon as well. He's not very difficult. You get plenty of time in between the adds to DPS him a bit.

Horrible.
I am also A cleric and this is how it has been going for me also. The cleric threat is unreal, and most pugs will not help one bit with it.

Never happened to me; people do leave when the dungeon isn't going well though.
As far as endgame dungeons go, the first 2 epic ones are pretty cake and most of them are successful. After than PUGs can be pretty dicey.
Yeah, the game is always going to try to edge you into a guild. Guild lifers are called that for a reason, they tend to stay around the game longer due to social obligations, whereas the solo player leaves the moment something more interesting shows up.
I haven't traditionally had good luck with them in most games, but truthfully aside from the "Need Ninjas" it hasn't been awful. Ran the skirmish tonight doing the Pit Fiend, and everyone but my CW wiped (/flex) because they wouldn't peal off the cleric. I kited his HAMSTER around the platform until everyone could rez and run back. It was rather funny actually...squishiest class in the game, armor-wise, and last-man-standing.
After they came back, he went down without a problem.

Don't get me started on resurrection scrolls.
