Curious if there will ever be an implementation to allow current ZEN to AD exchange rates to be available through the NW Gateway and allow us to purchase or exchange ZEN and AD via the website?

Look at what happened in the NYSE when automated systems went into panic mode.
Make a web interface and someone will script it. You'll have automated bots doing arbitrage so fast that no human would be able to keep up.
Any time there's a margin to be made (like from last week, buying AD at 500 to 1 and this week buying zen back at 380 to 1) there will be people playing the market.
Allow it to be automated with a web interface and you'll have automated systems scanning for the smaller margins and doing transactions at lightning speed. Humans simply won't be able to click fast enough.
So, it would likely crash the system, kill the market and make it impossible for folks NOT using a scripted system to do any exchanges whenever there's a possible margin position.
