I upgrade my weapon through auction house at around 5-10 level steps if I haven't found decent weapon already. It costs somewhere around 5-10k to buy decent one, and helps quite a bit. You can generally make that much AD during play though, so no need to waste our reserves for that.

The only thing that I have to spend my AD on right now is unbinding enchantments when upgrading to new armor. Unfortunately the costs keep getting higher and I am not gaining AD as fast as the costs are rising and I usually get new armor pieces every 2 levels, so this is prohibitively expensive.

Dont bother with that before lvl60, as you said, you will find new armor pieces (and more runes) to soon, and cost in AD is to high.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
