No Guild Master Sucession

So I have a problem. I accidental left my guild which is already a big doh but here's where the issue arrives. It doesn't seem like there's any guild succession in that no one automatically raises up to the GM rank. So now the guild is leaderless. I've already sent in a GM ticket to get the rank restored but is this a bug or just a missing feature? It seems to be a pretty important thing.
