Making boss, dialog mark

I have two questions.
1. Is it possible to make some encounter to be boss? Like as I see it now if you want to get something hard or to make boss you have to create strong unit of encounters or you have to put there some Ogre... But is there way to make a very strong person that is not Ogre? Like lets say I want very strong boss wizzard. Or very strong Boss warrior which is not Ogre. Is there possible way to make one encounter to have "boss like" stats? To have a lots of HP at least?

2. How can I get rid of that dialog mark over the head of person to talk to. I mean when I dont want yet player to know that He/she will talk to someone. Because as they see this dialog marker it automatically makes them know there will be dialog. Or its only when I am testing that I see dialog there and player will not see it?

    2. Are you suggesting that the PC should not know that an NPC is interactable? It might make for an interesting quest but perhaps not such a good interface.

    1. At the moment I do not think it is possible. slightly related, I also do not think it is possible to have one mob out of a group of mobs say something upon their being encountered, I would suggest adding an encounter text to the mob popup in detail map view. I would also suggest giving some parameters to this selection, to have the mob say the text,

    -upon encounter
    -upon death
    -etc..

Sorry to derail the thread a bit but the Foundry itself seems to be a bit derailed ATM.

No I just mean to not be seen on the minimap... Like when you look on map there is mark of your quest. and you may be at the start of dungeon and when you look on map you see that there is yellow marker (little yellow text cloud) over the place where is the dialog person which is at the end of the dungeon. So from the start you know that point is to talk to someone. But you dotn want player to know that for example. You just want him to know that there is "something" but he will discover that its dialog after he gets there. Just to make players feel like they dont exactly know what is expecting them right fromt he start... In situation when you dotn want player to know that it will be dialog until he/she gets on visible sight to that dialog NPC. It is like, object to search doesnt have "search me I am object" marker over it... (I mean in minimap and map)

Yeah I know there are not singular texts on encounters, there are also not some other options that could be useful like NPC turn to encounter or other way around upon some objective or item. Even though it is possible to make the way of appear and disappear... But its kind of tricky.

But possibility to make any encounter boss would be really helpful. It could be done by just stat boost or something. Like singular encounters would have posibility to boost their stats and become boss like. Just simple boost of HP or something. And than you can make bosses... Which could help a lot to variation.. Now we are only left with Ogres and Hard groups...

I see the Boss option along with "OR" option for objectives (create objective webs as with dialogs) as crucial things that could turn Foundry quests in to a new level and authors could really dig in and make even much more quality stuff... I mean those two options can really change impression of the whole quest... variety of bosses and variety of moral choices, or ways how to achieve the goal... I personally feel a lot limited by nto having those two options. Like I would love to create OR option quests. I try to make it in boundaries of current system but.. you know... Its not the same thing as having OR option.... I mean "AND" option of objectives is fine but cant make it up for "OR" option...

But this is of course a free game, I am sure we are already getting more than we paid for, which is nothing.

What would be nice is a listing of what the devs are currently working on concerning the Foundry and the priority that they place on these things. This way a lot of threads would become obsolete.

Yeah it is a lot this tool... I dont want to say it is bad or something.. I just see much larger potential that can be used and its not so much complicated. I mean that potential is so huge... It must be developed further... Just to honor it better.

Yeah it would be fine to see what they are up to. But we will not know that probably.

Development requires time, and time is money friend.

I would like an extremely long, entertaining, and highly interesting Foundry quest. But something like that will require some time from both parties involved. In the meantime we can play the short quests I suppose.

Regarding your question number 2, it appears that there are a number of things that appear in the Foundry but do not appear ingame and vice versa, since i can't even search for my own quests I can't actually test that stuff, actually since my Foundry character has the null stat bug I can't even properly test my own quests inside Foundry LOL!

Yeah Well It is not so much about long quest for me like more about interesting. I think that choices makes story way much more interesting... Make player to decide and show him different ends or different outcomes. I am able to spend a lot of time on Foundry.. recently I only do Foundry.. since I dis my first quest in Foundry I didnt play any quest in game... So I am working on it all the time... I would love to give a lot of time to it and learn here something more about level design.. I would like to be in game industry and this helps me so much with understanding of level design so for me its important even in the way of my future career that I would like... I am so much creative person and this is like creative ecstasy...

Yeah the Foundry definitely is neat. It has given me more appreciation about what goes into the creation of these MMO's. I've always said to myself I could make better quests than that, now I actually have to do it lol.

Well I never thought like I could do much better quests.. I didnt think about it that way actually.. I just wanted to make my quests.. But I appreciate work of others.. even though sometimes its lousy... I just want my creation to do something because its screaming inside of me... and this is like super cool tool for creation.... That is why its potential is so crucial to me... and I see it has HUGE potential... It is already a great deal...
And to be honest... For Cyrptic its good to invest in us (in Foundry development) because we will be their "new content" to the game... They just made a great move by this.. It is brilliant move to let players make their own content which is problem of many MMO... They lack new content and studios are bussy to create it.. here we create it for the game... So for them its only good to give us the best tools so we can provide them the best content and therefor take out a huge stone of "new content" from their back at least partly... It is a great move from Cryptic.. I think totally brilliant and it will have a huge outcome later on in the "what to do now, I am bored" phase of the MMO progress.
