Allow upgrading common assets to the next level (uncommon) but make them require 24 hours to upgrade and require some item that can be achieved in game (maybe some sort of dungeon/quest reward).

Have the devs said anything about the plans for this in the future? You should be able to upgrade everything with enough time/effort.
Just the game is not soo F2P like they saying! You know? people lie everytime for their own buisnesses that's called marketing!Even if the upgrades of the profession items taking months they want to take the money from you if you are addicted by the game,if you dont want to pay then bb open the door to the people who want to pay, your gear is not enough for this game and you will stop to playing in some months or weeks!

If they want to make some money then why they not place the rare assets to zen store for 300-400-500 zen for item?Very fast and easy...But let other players to play the game for some weeks or months if they want to upgrade that assests like the profession workers is too annoying to make upgrade for 18 hrs and if i had money to spend i would buy that stuffs very easy! You can reach easy the 60 lvl but you never have enough power...like the players who spend money! The F2P players playing very hard to take some high lvl very rare items and selling it for very high price and then buying they mid level suits for gear!I dont have see F2P players with gear over 10000!But P2P players have even 12000+ gear on them! The game have taxes which mean the F2P players working for Cryptic!

I say no... as people sell the items they make from crafting for AD to me it really doesn't make sense to make them free upgrades. Also, PWE has to make money somehow.

That being said... what I don't like about the bags is not knowing what you will get inside them. I would rather pay a dollar per asset (for green) than buy a random bag for $3 though and MAYBE get what I need.

Technically speaking, you can get the uncommon assets without ever paying a single cent. Just work your butt off in game and get them from the Auction House with AD from the people whom are selling them. I am tired of people bringing up this "well, it's not free to play" because you can't get some items that you want easy. I have an almost 11k gear score without spending any real money, so that "you need to pay to be any good" thing is just and excuse. Some thing I got with Zen for which I traded AD. I am not even a hardcore player, I just play for fun. Everything you need in this game can be obtained fairly easy in game with the right amount of AD. This game (till now) is the most "free to play" I have ever played.

How about making the profession booster packs at least profession specific.

That way you're not gambling AS much. If you want to level weaponsmithing, at least for $3 you know you'll get SOMETHING you can use for your craft.

It just sucks to try to level a craft, buy a few boosters and get absolutely nothing you can use, then have to play the AH just to get started with some decent assets.
