Why is it you can make 4 iron (whatever) and make them into 1 steel (whatever), but you can't make 4 worn (whatever) into 1 iron (whatever)?

Am I missing something somewhere? Is there a place to purchase the iron ones, not auction house but somewhere else.

    You can either buy the items on the AH or you can buy one of the profession kits in the Zen store. There might be other ways to get them also, but I'm not sure on that.

    They do encourage you to spend, but converting astrals to zen works too - and they are fairly cheap. I've been keeping track for a bit & they are actually a net gain to purchase (on average of course, there is the occassional dud).
    If you don't want the green person in there - flog him & buy what you want, mats you don't want always sell quickly, and if you are lucky you get a dragon egg or a master somebody, either of those are worth more AD than the bag.
