Gateway problem and possible solution

Know what is annoying? Besides from having to enter your password each time you log off to change characters, but on the Gateway, if you have characters on different realms (servers) it disconnects you when you switch to that character on that server.
Ex. Toon 1 is on mindflayer as well as toon 2 and 3. Can go back and forth between them without a hitch.
Toon 4 is on Dragon and I get disconnected each time I go from 1-3 to 4 or 4 to 1-3.
This is a real pain in the you know what and it seems like an easy fix for you guys. Can you please make it to where you do not disconnect when changing characters that are on a different server from the one you left.
