Curing my NPC of Cowardice

So, I'm attempting to make one of my NPC's less... cowardly. There's an ambush scene and I'd like him to be able to fight back instead of cowering in a corner like a scared rothe.

Any way to do this? Looked for it for about 15 minutes before I gave up and came to the forums.

I think you would have to hide your NPC and then spawn a "friendly" encounter (search for Guards) and apply your NPC's custome to the encounter.

Not sure if there is a friendly encounter with just one mob in it though.

NPCs are not combat capable. Also, placing friendly encounters means they risk being killed, which would break your quest logic (though the quest would still work, it would be very weird).

There is no good solution for this currently. I suggest rewriting your quest with this in mind.

Well, even if the guard faction friendly you're using as a stand-in for the NPC gets "killed", you can always just count it as being knocked out.

ok. Take a ride with me.. lol.. First, have your npc. then talk to the npc.. have this conversation cause the mob to appear, and the npc to disappear.. at the same time the mob appears, also have a guard version of the npc appear.. then, after the mobs are dead, have the guard version disappear, and the npc reappear. This might work. lol. but i am not sure if there is a solo guard right off.

So get this though when thinking about the whole npc cower thing. I have a bad guy who is a contact at first before he begins his destruction. And he spawns 3 succubus. If I leave him there watching you fight guess what... the succubus attack HIM. lol. And my big boss baddie is sitting there cowering like a chicken! Only way so far I have fixed it is to have him disappear when they spawn and come back after they die when his encounter starts. SIGH

Only problem: Since I have dynamic behavior linked to the guy to start with, I can only make him appear/disappear based off the objective he is linked to. Looks like I might have to make two versions of the NPC linked to different conversation objectives.
