Posting another work-around.
Once I hit level 3, I noticed my tasks were not completing. I'd click on the "Finish Now" button and see...
They way I've been having to fix this is by logging into the same account over the gateway with my mobile phone. For some reason, this knocks something loose.
... So far no luck on collecting the 1 Astral Diamond being promised.
