...should take you to the character select screen.

Those of us who play, and often switch between several characters would appreciate it.

It's a small thing but annoying as hell.

Or give us the choice of logging out or character select. You'd think these kinds of things would be obvious

I've been around since BW2 and we've been asking for this since at least then... It really is annoying.

I could mention an 8 year old mmo that got it right...then.

    Agreed.

This feature is in STO and CO. Not sure why it's not in NW but it should be making an appearance at some point.

As it turns out, the Cryptic Game Engine has it as a slash command: /gotocharacterselect. In this game, it's limited to use only by Devs/moderators. However, in STO, it is a legal command usable by players.

I'd give it a matter of time before it's properly implemented. You're in good hands. :)
In the meantime, THOMAS WAS EVERYWHERE.

I agree, this being booted out to the password screen is just tiresome, and most the time the saved screen name is wrong...or just a bunch of random numbers.

Please make it to were when log out it goes to the character selection screen.
    Thanx

Here's a temporary solution until the devs decide it's a good idea to implement this:

    /bind 0 "gotocharacterselect"
(Replace 0 with any key of your choice)

You will still have to wait 15 seconds as pressing 'Exit Now' will log you out completely.
