So i was about to choose a Cleric companion for my TR (from the level 16 quest) but then I heard that there's a quest at level 2x that gives you a free Cleric companion, is that true ? because if it is, i will choose something else now and wait a few more levels for the Cleric.

You do get your choice from the 2 gold cost companions in late teens/level 20ish range.

I'd love for someone to pinpoint where this quest for the cleric is, because in the closed beta I specifically remember getting the cleric in one of the quests from neverdeath cemetery, I now have a 60 and a 40 character and neither of them managed to find it somehow..

To make this a bit more clear: I just got my cleric companion from a quest at level 16/17 that I think came from sgt. knox where I was allowed to chose one of the companions that are for sale at the emporium for 2g.

Are you saying there is another one I could get for free? Is it the kelemvor cleric from the companion tab maybe?

    That is NOT correct.
It was correct during the beta weekends. It is no longer correct. So choose your level 16 companion carefully. The only other way to get a companion is to buy one from the same place for 2 Gold, or buy one from the Z-Store.

    Just FYI.

So there is not a quest for a green Cleric? Is there a place where I can upgrade the Cleric I have?

I don't believe that it has been implemented yet, but there will be eventually.

No, the quest from the cemetery in Beta was removed. There is only one companion quest and it is the initial one from Knox at level 16.

As of right now, you cannot purchase the upgrades to the companions as they are not in game. Assume they will be for AD or Zen and also assume they will be quite expensive when they did arrive.

Then where are the green versions of the basic companions coming from that are on the AH? I've seen several recently...

The green starter companions are from the new limited edition adventurer friend's pack. It comes with a green quality version of the Cleric Disciple, dog, Man-at-Arms, or Wayward Wizard.

lol, people are selling the ones that aren't the cleric, that's short sighted.

Now this news has really cheesed me off! So instead of adding the companion training tomes to the game, we get another cash grab. I'm really starting to have doubts about this game, it's starting to feel more and more like they just want to milk the players for all they can before the game dies.

The companion training tomes are coming in the Fury of the Feywild expansion. It says they can be purchased through Astral Diamonds but the exact price is unknown (probably comparable to the mount training items).
