Question about clerics

I wanna ask if there is another way to target someone to heal him ,because the only way i see is to target him like the way you target for attacks and this gets pretty annoying when i`m in a party and they all jump around and its harder (for me i don`t know about others :) ) to focus the person you want to heal and if there are enemies around him it gets even harder . So if there is a way and i just haven`t seen it yet please tell i`m still new to the game so it could be just me being stupid and not seeing it :D

It's the only way, to my knowledge. Only tip I could give you is to make sure your parties HP bar is set to always showing. Helps me in finding where they are if everything is flopping all over.

I want to play the cleric and thought I might try leveling one with whatever toon my husband tries, I played a healer in tera so the moving around doesn't bother me but this game's did look like to would take more time to get used to when I messed around with one for a little bit

There are four ways to heal people:

    - They heal when the hit a mob. This is Astral Seal, an At Will you cast on the mob. People attacking it get a small heal

    - You target them and cast a HoT. Healing word is a encounter power providing a decent, single-target Heal over Time. It's not a lot of healing, but it beats Astral Seal. It requires reticule targeting, which is very difficult in a mass of moving players and pets

    - They heal when when they're near a mob. The encounter power Forgemaster's Flame, when cast in divinity mode, causes a AoE effect around the mob that heals people. It is substantial healing. Getting this power is the first time you will feel powerful as a cleric

    - They heal by standing in good stuff. Astral Shield, when cast in divinity mode, produces a large blue circle on the ground. Standing inside it heals you for quite a lot. Hallowed Ground, when properly feated, is a daily power that has a similar effect

Until you get Forgemaster, healing is really difficult. It gets easier from there. Except for the part where you get swarmed by every add in the dungeon, and sometimes from other dungeons. Heck, I half expect to draw Cthulu-critters from TSW and the occasional EQ1 frost giant at times.
    - Snit (Cleric, Dragon Server)

Don't even worry about it, when you get astral shield, just keep it up on the melee and then you just do dps.

    Pretty much this.

Astral Seal on stuff, put down the shield, and go about killing the bloody ads (yay archers and casters UGH I hate you).
If you take the feat, you can also DPS elite ads with other people and betweel Astral Seal AND your crits, they get nice heals.
Also when you're DPSing the boss and melee are around it and you crit, more healing.

I love Forge and I might sometimes slot that over Divine Glow or slot Sunburst (heal AND knockback in divinity mode to push away melee ads that are swarming you)... but it's tough. Better ad control seems to be healthier for the party than me spamming Forge when half the time only 2 people are on boss (rogue and GWF keep swapping between ads and boss like smart people). And it does not help keep the wizard alive either.

Definitely stick with AOE powers. Sunburst isn;t all that bad either, except is a somewhat small radius. Hallowed Ground is a keeper all the way through to end-game.
