I believe so. If you look at gear when you get something like a ring with lots on it, the game recommends that usually. so I would assume that it would.

wait, theres no resistances in this game? thats pretty dumb, even the most simple minded fantasy/mythic series or stories know there are elemental resistances and armor - and that armor does nothing against magic - theres whole stories based on this!
Well if you want to call the end of the world.... Then dont read further.
You get Defense and Deflection. That is pretty much it. The game IS both dumbed down from DnD (see NWN2) but it is also a little more involved than those games too. Double edged sword.

what a lowlife game
Plenty of games mechanically allow armor to modify the damage magic does (this just means magic does more base damage than a game where it bypasses armor). Game mechanics and lore don't always mesh together.

You forget this is not any other fantasy. This is D&D which has its own rules on how mechanics work. why do you need resists when you real time dodge?

The thing is... you need to pick just one offensive to fous on, and another to have as a secondary.
They all play their purpose. I prefer Recovery in my offensives... But I am crazy that way.

The system is pretty simple and works.
