Extra Mouse Buttons not working

My spirits heightened in the control mapping UI when I saw Mouse Button 6/7/8 as selectable options for mappings, but to my dismay they aren't working for me on my logitech G700.
Has anybody else gotten this to work with other cluster button mice like the naga or the g600?
I understand you can set up macros to map these buttons to keys but I don't like getting out of game and hitting a button just to see a ']' show up in a text field or my scroll lock light going on and off. I also realize the macro software can be profiled to the running application but this type of setup has been flaky on me in the past and I'd rather have native button support in the application(why this is so hard to do is beyond me).
That said, any help would be appreciated.

I took that mouse and i kid you not, put it on my anvil and smashed the <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> out of it. My wife was a little scared (sorry babe). of course it was after my new League of Legends Razer Hex came in the mail of course (Which is an amazing mouse to use in Neverwinter).
