Saying Defiance is/was not buggy is lolworhty.. One of the most bugged game releases i've seen.
I never said the game wasn't buggy as hell, or completely unfinished and clearly rushed out the door to meet a timeline scheduled by people in suits who have never and will never play it. I never said it was a good game either. I found it mildly entertaining for a week, mostly because I miss Tabula Rasa, but as far as launch and being able to play it goes, I had no issues with that. It was up when I wanted it, no queue, no lag.
It's not shady, it's business. They need to get money for the game. They are choosing to get it through things like bags and respecs than from monthly fees (and box sales)
Funny enough, I didn't have problems logging in with Defiance. I have never waited this much and tried this much to play a game, and I will for sure forget it when they have actually fixed their HAMSTER launcher. I was stuck at patch 12 for 2 days, then I finally got to 13 and it says mismatched version. I tried launcher again and it didn't download the next version, v.14. And didn't even launch the game like before.

I was on the opposite side of the fence. Bought Defiance and couldn't play for three days. Then they rolled back twice, causing me to lose levels and pursuit progress. Then I contacted Amazon and got my money back.
NO was working great other than a few hours of downtime.

Defiance is by Trion Worlds. The company has been around for seven years. This is their second MMO, the first was Rift. They don't really have an excuse.
EDIT: Of course, this is Cryptic's fourth MMO, so they don't have an excuse either. But things will go wrong. That's life. What matters is - as you say - how fast a company responds to the problems.
Exactly, and Cryptic has been mostly good about it.

But charging for respects? And 6 bucks too. Of course its also 10 per bag, so I shouldn't be surprised.
I was very impressed with how quickly they fixed the queue and rubberbanding/lag issues. They get a thumbs up from me on the launch and how they are handling issues that arise.
Just got done watching all the Defiance episodes and I have to say that I am impressed. It's been a while since an actually GOOD science fiction show was on TV.

As for the respecs, I kind of like it being pay to respec.
..........
Well, when you're getting paid $0.10 a post... maybe its not so bad.
Ok, since I can not create a new thread for some odd reason, I am just dumping this here. For all you morons who like to pick up the items for the hidden chest at the end of Cloaktower, stop leaving the instance after you do! You are ruining the chances for good loot for us real players. If you don't know what the **** to do with it, DON'T PICK IT THE **** UP. Leave the stuff alone, and let the good players have their fill of loot. You might not want extra loot, but I do.

Something tells me you will be 100% correct.

With the way the store is being handled, I wouldn't be surprised. No free respects and lack of bags from quest rewards seems really shady.

So far anyways...XD

No idea what this means, but if you are saying that respecs should be free, then I agree with you.
