Skirmish bosses overtuned?

Just did the Garrundar the Vile skirmish at 42, and the last boss took about 15+ minutes. Mind you, it was certainly fun, but it felt a little overtuned to me. 30% less HP might be an idea. (And please, give the event rewards if a skirmish started during the hour, not when it ended -- I got in with 20 minutes left, and left without the reward.)

The bosses aren't quite as spongy as there were in previous bwe's. The time it takes depends a lot on whether people try to stop the healer getting ganked by fresh spawns but it would be good if the reward reflected the time it takes or as you said the chest actually aknowledged when you entered the place.

The thing is, it wasn't difficult, just long. I'd rather have 30% less HP and twice the number of add waves, in this particular skirmish. The whole thing took 30 minutes for 20 or so silver. I probably won't queue for it again (and certainly not 3 times for the daily! ... it took two hours to even pop).

I'm only doing skirmishes as dailies, so I can get AD. You're right. The bosses are difficult with a group just really long fights. And the reward at the end was so so. I just want the AD.

I really can't wait for 100 more of these casual posts to appear tomorrow. It will be so much fun when this forum will be filled with casuals complaining about difficulty-instances taking too long-people having better items than they have etc. There will be crying for EVERYTHING. This "omg I want to beat boss in 5 min instead of 15" post will seem like it's been written by a genius compared to what's coming tomorrow..Just wait and see:P

warpet, you left out the part where I said it was lots of fun. We enjoyed it the whole time, meaning time wasn't the issue, it was the fun we had doing it. And I even forgot what the drop was, as that wasn't the point for us.

This has nothing to do with being casual. You do understand the difference between "hard" and "long", right? In regard to a game, at least. ;) Changing this fight so that the boss has 30% less HP and compensating by doubling the add waves would make it both shorter and more challenging. It would, in fact, make it less casual.

Ya.. when a boss takes 15-20 minutes of just solid nuking to take down then there's something wrong. It just gets tedious at that point. You don't really have any threat of dying, it's just ridiculous amounts of health. It's a pretty terrible way to artificially inject "difficulty" in any game.

It is the same way with storming the keep, Final boss takes 15 minutes to kill simply due to a huge hitpoint pool... needs to be brought down IMO....

It's not difficult. It's needlessly long, which is annoying and useless. I'm all for difficulty, but standing there for 15 minutes whacking at a boss and killing some occasional adds isn't my idea of difficulty, it's boring. If it was dungeon-like difficult then it would be another story, but right now skirmish bosses just have tons of health and nothing else.

haha yes I understand the difference between hard and long both in game and in real life.. In a game a long fight needs consistency so it's better than a short one.. Ofcourse if the fight is easy, being long would make it tedious. The thing is that a 20 min fight is not long (at least for old school players like me) so I don't find any need to nitpick on it.. As for the rest of my post.. Just wait and see.Tomorrow is near and I have seen this happening in games since 1999:). It WILL be hilarious

Got to agree. Did Storm the Keep yesterday, and that final boss took ages to kill. Easy as pie, just a gigantic hp-sponge. Decrease hp, increase difficulty :D

Punt the mystics off the cliffs and they wont heal the darters or the dragon. This encounter is fine the way it is, especially for how small the map is.

This seems to happen every few skirmishes and even some bosses in dungeons.

big hp pool does not = harder boss. It just = more time sink to kill said boss.

They need to put more damage on the adds or the boss itself, and lower its hp. Make it more difficult just let time invest. no reason a skirmish (which should be a quick fight or two imo.) Should take as long or longer then some dungeons.

but each there own, i personally will be skipping most skirmishs because the time vs reward is simply not there.

The first two skirmishes are fast as all hell, but once you get to blackdagger, you start asking yourself "...why?"
The fight is easy as heck, you just pretty much stand there and DPS for literally 10 minutes straight.

I highly support reducing their HP, as it stands, the fight is not challenging, it is simply tedious and boring. There are no mechanics to speak of, aside from the occassional stray add that is quickly picked up and disposed of. It really is not entertaining to run these skirmishes for that reason.

So yeah by all means, please reduce their HP by about half for any blackdagger and beyond skirmishes, and make the fight a bit more difficult. Anything to make it less monotonous.

Also I fully support the notion of making it so that if you enter a skirmish while the bonus is up, you are eligible for it when you finish, even if the event is over.

I think the problem most people are having that are complaining about Garrundar having too much health is that they Mystics area getting heals on him. If you keep them separated and focus them down, or punt them over the cliff as suggested, it's not all that difficult or lengthy.

If you decrease his health and increase their dps that will just invite other people to cry about taking too much damage.
