Hello I'm very new to D&D and this game as well. ( never really new anything about any of it before I bought it Saturday) I have a question about using the foundry.
Is there a way to make encounter NPC's drop an item you create just by killing them? Or make it go straight to your inventory by killing them?
I was working on a quest that required you to bring a skull back as proof you completed your objective but gave up when I couldn't figure this out.
Thanks for any help I really like this feature ( The Foundry) and want to create the best content I can.
You can create an item on the ground that you can pick up by interacting with it. You'd have to set its Visible state to Component Complete for the encounter that is supposed to "drop it", and you have to make a guess about where the encounter will be when dead. It's generally easier to create your story so that this doesn't come up. In my second quest, The Lanaar Legacy, the player is told (outside of the story itself) to go kill a specific enemy. On Component Complete for that enemy an extra line of dialog is opened for the quest giver, allowing you to say that you've completed the task. No inventory item needed.

I eventually did rewrite the quest to avoid using the item just wondering if I was overlooking something in the Foundry.
Thanks for the help. Im sure I will be back with more questions once I start making my next quest.

One other thing I had problems with was my Foundry char would lose all his items and armor it stayed gone even when I respecced I read you can delete and remake your foundry char but could never find out where or how to do this.
It seems you can't delete your Foundry character on the live servers. This only worked back in the Foundry beta, so that information is outdated. We'll have to wait for a patch to fix the problem you're having.
