Cleric companion slots

My Cleric companion has a slot on the far, upper right which requires an 'Icon Item'. What is an Icon Item? I thought maybe it was like my Off-hand item, but that doesn't work.

I found two as drops, it says "Icon" on it, i'm not sure where else they come from though. I may have gotten more, and vendored them by accident when i saw the red icon, just an fyi.

Icon items are devout cleric weapons. I dont remember if its the mainhand or offhand item that devout cleric use. So just check the red colored items that drop or buy one from the auction house.

    Icons are the offhand item.

You can also buy them from a vendor in the central plaza.

Ok, so I bought an Icon from the vendor in the Protector's Enclave and my Cleric companion couldn't use it, I'm assuming it's too high of a level.

I guess I'll just have to farm for a low level Icon, there's not a single one on the Auction House with a buyout price.

Did you buy an Icon or did you accidentially get a Symbol instead? The Cleric companion can only use Icons and not Symbols.

You should check to make sure it actually says Icon for the type. I haven't had issues with giving my companion items far above their level and having it work fine.

It is an off-hand item, and you can get a level 16 one currently at the auction house, or the implement merchant in the market in Protectors Enclave. Be aware you have to specifically look for off-hand icon at the merchant or in random drops.

I bought mine from the Implement Vendor in the Central Market. Hit the All Implements tab and scroll down to Icons. I got a green quality Devoted Icon, its red in my bag and red when put the cleric's slot but it is accepted - at last I'm lvl 38 :(
