Too many log-in attempts

Talked a friend into buying a Guardian pack and now he is having this issue with logging in. We were playing just fine yesterday and early today but he went AFK and came back with this issue. When he tries on his end it says too many attempts....he has all his info correct and even tried changing his password.

Anyone having this issue? Any resolutions? Please help if you can. He has also restarted his computer.

EDIT: Also created a support ticket.

    Ok, too many log in attempts means just that: he has tried to log in with incorrect information too many times and won't be permitted to log in to the game.
    It will go away after a short period of time.

    Sometimes if you click "Log Out" the game, for whatever reason, will change the username to your Cryptic Username, if he had one.
    In my case my Cryptic Username is NAME.NAME and PWE does not support period or other "special" characters in their usernames anymore...

    So when I log out of the game it will revert to my Cryptic Username instead of my PWE Username thus resulting in a failed Log In attempt.
    This is just one of the reasons he could have a hard time logging in.


    In any case, at this point in time he will have to wait until the red flag is removed from his computer/ip. Right now due to failing to log in too many times with incorrect information he is being seen as a security threat, as somebody who is trying to guess passwords and such. There is nothing you can do until some time passes.


    Please note you may not share accounts or passwords as per the terms of service. It is actually a bannable offense on every MMO.
    Please don't make me have to pass that information along. Play by the rules. Keep your account secure. :)

    Thank you for the quick reply. I tried to explain to double/triple check your log in info and he assured me he had everything correct. I guess we'll just wait.

    Glad to help.

    Sometimes just clearing the board helps too. Occasionally I swear I have the right information and I just delete my account name and password from what was already entered and it decides to work.

    Us humans tend to overlook simple errors. Computers don't let us do that haha.

    Also, make sure the caps lock is turned off! You wouldn't believe how many times that is the cause, haha!

    i had this happen logging into forums, had to keep entering the same info until it worked.

    For the record, this still has not worked. My friend has waited 6 hours and nothing. His submission ticket response was - change your ip address - we're not very technical, he is beyond frustrated and near giving up.

    You wouldn't believe the number of times I can mistype my password repeatedly. Even one I use every day all the time. Once my fingers go off track it doesn't get fixed until I stop and take a minute....

    I am just surprised this has not happened to more people, honestly. Plus the response from the tech guys was for him to change his ip instead of unflagging his log in info. He is still trying to do it, coming in and off ventrillo because he loses his internet connection...with no success. If it wasn't so ridiculous, it would be funny.

    Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
