I think the title speaks for itself.
I was probably asking for too much, but creating a priest of Kelemvor, it's kinda "meh-ish" to see him throw bolts of light, summon angels and whatnot.
It might be considered a detail, but it's all a matter of presentation. Signature spells, custom-made for each deity, would be too much, i'm sure. But some, relatively easy work with alternate colors, would do wonders, ie a Tempunian could just throw RED bolts, a Selunite could throw SILVER tears, WHITE femur bones for a Kelemvorite etc. Spice up the spell descriptions, it's only text- but making them different for each Priest, would do wonders for immersion. It might sound foolish, but i'm disappointed a bit and to be honest, it puts me off playing my Kelemvorite. He's too sparkly and jolly dammit.
Come to think of it,
does the choice of your Deity affect anything? Have i
missed something?
I think it should; i think that the God System is pertinent to the Forgotten Realms setting, it's one of the thing that defines this world. Ravenloft had the Mists and goth setting, Dragonlance had, well, the dragons and draconians, Dark Sun had the sand-world/defilers/sorceror kings thing... and Faerun basically has the Pantheon thing. It's a feature, and it feels way overlooked, much more in the case of the DEVOTED (what?) vessels of their gods.

However, good news! You can buy a cleric of Kelemvor companion for Zen! The two of you can talk shop.

I'm pretty sure you missed the whole point of the op. He was asking for a COSMETIC change. Which in fact is described in the PHB and DMG of 4E heck it even states that you will wan to make evil clerics abilities create darkness and do shadow damage instead of radiant. However I dont think they should go through all the trouble of creating separate animations or even descriptions (Sorry to much work and tedium on the developers part) A simple Color change is all we really need Gold for the sun god whos name I forgot how to spell, Grey for Kelemvor, Red for Tempus ect.
Id love if they'd implement a deity based color change. As long as all the colors are bright enough to see clearly no one has any reason to complain.
