Companion Maxed at Level 20?

None of my companions will go over level 20. Is this intended? If so, why doesn't the ring slot open until level 25 if they are maxed at 20?

Thanks.

Different qualities (uncommon, rare, etc) of companion have a different max level.

There is an item in the companion shop to 'upgrade' companions by +1 tier, but they have no cost, cannot be bought, and say "coming soon"

What is highly annoying is that the Wizard now says level 15 max, yet I had him up to 18 last BW. Looks like, yet another, cash grab. Make you buy higher level companions.

Sounds more and more like P2W:mad:.

Please people check out the facts before you post. The coming soon upgrade for companion items is on the AD vendor not the zen market.
Research the facts please before P2Win comments.

And what facts are those? Where is any of this information posted? it's not.. and how often have things been changed from gold to ad and later to zen. Does identity scrolls ring a bell?

The fact that you have to pay to upgrade your companion is stupid. You have already paid for them to later upgrade them for AD may seem like P2W to some. Don't blindly trust in the developers you will only get burned if you don't provide any feedback letting them know how this is a bad idea they will think everyone will go along with it. The public already spoke about the identity scrolls and they increased the drop rate.

The documentation in this game is horrible no one does my companion information lead me to believe that I need to upgrade him somehow. In fact I just bought another companion that was common with gold because I was under the assumption that the companion that I got with the quest may of had a level limit. Again lack of information in the game.

wow how people feel so privileged that they should know absolutely everything about a beta, before the beta starts. Can one of you privileged pm me everything there is to know about the game before open beta begins /laugh.

Come on people. This is beta. it's not the release. play it as such. I for one want something to play for, or this game will get boring very very fast. I like to earn things, and know that I am farming for something that has some meaning when I get it. Not just some item that anyone can get in a few hours.

Don't make everything easy !!! having to save AD's to upgrade a HAMSTER companion is fine. Why does everyone want everything handed to them for free, with no work involved. I'd last about a month in a game like that. ID scrolls having to cost AD's means u aren't gonna ID every piece of HAMSTER grey and green item u come across at end game. That alone limits the amount of goods in the economy and benefits everyone.

People need to stop QQ'ing about every little thing in this game designed to make you work for it.. No wonder the country is going to HAMSTER. No one wants to work for things, they want it all handed to them.

Can hear it now, a month after open beta "This game sucks. I got everything and have nothing to work for. please add more content !! please add more items !!! please add more... and more... and more...." The great MMO's that keep people playing, are the ones that are fun to play, have awesome socialization, and keep you striving for more and better items. u want an even playing field, Farmville is always accepting new players. No thought required.

OK lets break down your reply and i will answer your comments to the best of my ability with what facts i have been able to attain -

1- Since the game is still evolving we can only state the facts as they are currently applicable in this point in time hence "the facts".
What are you talking about on the ID scrolls? they are still on the AD vendor next to the daily quest hand in NPC.

2- Paying to upgrade companions on top of playing for training is double dipping. However I can see why they are doing it.
This is to create additional AD sinks in game to control the in game economy.
AD in it self is earned in game so no money is needed to obtain AD so by definition pay to win does not apply.

As for feedback, there is complain and constructive, simply calling a game system with a over used meme such as "pay to win" without any constructive comments or facts in the matter helps no body.

3- I can agree with you about this point but every F2P MMO/game is mostly like this unless it started life as a buy or pay to play game. Things like user manuals cost money even if its just labor cost of writing one up.

Hopefully developers try to put as much of this into the tutorial, so new players progressing into the game's systems can understand how each system works. :)

Yes, but if I pay gold for a common companion, someone else pays AD for a blue companion, and the third guy pays Zen for a purple companion, who deserves a higher level companion? My common companion is tier 1 so i'll need to upgrade him twice, the blue companion only needs to be upgraded once, etc

If they change the upgrade cost to Zen, feel free to cry about it, but it's currently on the AD vendor. We don't even know the cost yet.
