7-11 Refused to sell me a Perfect World Game Card

I went into a 7-11 near my house to purchase a $50 game card. The guy at the register activates it, and I go to swipe my card to pay. He says, "Wait, cash only." I replied are you kidding me?! It's $50, not $5. I spoke to the manager and he didn't budge. Suffice to say I'm extremely annoyed at this. Report to the Better Business Bureau or is this some type of "rule" with game cards?

I imagine it is a 7-11 rule, as most gamecards it is fine to use a credit card. Seriously though he just stole from PWE if it is active and he kept it.

I think Target sells them and lets you use your card, anyway Zen is on sale this weekend extra 25% if you buy it from the site

If you leave empty-handed after they activated the card, that's a $50 loss on their balance books. Let them take the cost and go find a more customer-friendly location to buy your game cards!

could go to a ATM near your house and withdraw 50$.
But I agree with above, now that its activated they can deal with it, weird rule but why not.

Thanks for the replies. I feel better now knowing that they had to eat the $50 bucks because they activated it and wouldn't let me pay. I took your advice and got it from the Zen store with the extra bonus. I just wanted to avoid the cost because my bank charges me a few bucks extra for a foreign fee.

    Thanks guys!

I am glad you got your zen finally. I do find it odd though that there was no ATM inside the 7-11. I have never been inside a 7-11 that did not provide access to one.
