Some background: Much (but not all) of my PC gaming is done on my 50 inch, 1080P flatscreen in my Living room. I have a more dedicated gaming rig in my home office, but....it's a lot more convenient to play in the LR, so I'm not "removed" from my wife and 3 children.
When playing over the beta weekend, I was happy to see the ability to increase font size in the chat window. However, when I tried scaling various UI elements by making them bigger (the power bar, for instance)...nothing really changed. They didn't actually increase in size, even though I increased the size of the elements in UI modifications. I'd go back to the UI modification "area", and the "box" for the sections would be bigger...but they would not have changed size in the ACTUAL game UI.
I'm not sure this is a bug or not. If it's not, it would be nice to be able to scale those elements to make them a bit more readable from 10 feet away on a 1080p display. I realize that's likely not a priority, all things considered. But it is a suggestion. I think a larger and larger segment of folks are starting to PC game on their large screen TV's, partially thanks to Steam's "Big Screen" initiative. Would be nice to see some concessions (eventually, at least) to making NW a more "big screen friendly" environment.
