Scourge Warlock is more then likly next followed by Archer Ranger. So not too much of a wait for you =). I'm looking forward to the Avenging Paladin and Pursuing Avenger.

Refer to this link for class list: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?51991-Class-builds-from-4e&highlight=pursuing+avenger

Scourge Warlock. I know personally cuz a guild mate put a weapon in chat and it was for a Scourge Warlock.

    IDK why it dropped either.

Does no one want to build unique characters? Next class? Shouldn't we be able to pick any race/class we want. After all its a D&D game. Maybe i want to play a gnome illusionist or Dwarf cleric... who is proficient with a crossbow...!

The question we should be asking is .. Why cant i choose my own class? Im not inept, i dont need classes provided, predetermined builds. We need the diversity for this to be a non issue entirely.

Welcome to 4E. As you can view from my comment there is a class list of 4E classes. From playing Champions Online(another Cryptic Game) if you get "Freeforms" then people will abuse Minmaxing. You will start seeing the thread: "Whats the best PvP build", "What's best dps build"? best healing build ect.. You will start having less fun and start seeing people request that you have XY feats and encounters before you can run Dungeons/Raid.

I like having options but I don't like where it leads with todays MMOs.

It's an action MMO. The animation timings would be insane for freeform builds. The amount of extra work seems like it would be prohibitive. I doubt it'll happen.

I get that, im new to 4e. but i cant imagine being so limited with build options. A large part of D&D as i know it is the precision builds. The finding of unique combinations. The diversity the game has always offered. I disagree that implementing this would be less fun. Of course the other part is RP which is a whole different topic. Its a bummer for me as i really thought this could be the best D&D video game to date. Character diversity combined with role play defines D&D for me.

4E is very different, and much more tuned towards an Online Game of sorts. It's more or less the illegitimate offspring of the superior race. In a sense.

lol there is already a game in development that does free build of your character its called Elder Scrolls Online.
don't expect a company like Cryptic to make a game that complex they are now owned by Perfect World the most you can expect is a new class added every 4 years after the game has all the intended classes added.
Oh Atari how I miss you!

Not really, it's BASED off of the 4E ruleset, and set in the Forgotten Realms. Both are part of the D&D franchise.

Im getting the picture... now. The issue rests with 4e. woc, it sounds like, has successfully taken the D&D out of D&D..

There is always DDO. ;] (Set in Ebberon, the least interesting pile of HAMSTER known in the D&D franchise)
