Cleric companions

Anybody group with people who have high ranked cleric companions? I was in a group where 3 of the people had their cleric companions out. They were quite effective, I barely had to heal at all. My DPS companion would sit there and wait because he's dumb and doesn't always engage very fast. I had a Guardian Warrior out heal me (I was mostly just trying to DPS because the healing was taken care of by the companions).

Just curious what other's experience has been with cleric companions. I ran through several dungeons (I'm only 22), but I felt like the 5th wheel pretty much. Not great DPS, and the group really didn't need my healing, until maybe the very end. Hard to tell, and I'm certainly pretty far from 50 also.

The good thing about a cleric companions heal is that its % based, 20% of the owners health over 10? seconds on a 30 second cool down. Then the normal attack it does hits a pretty decent heal on the third strike. The best part about them is they don't have the threat problem normal clerics do at the moment

Yea they pretty massively buffed the cleric companions this weekend. Pretty sure last weekend it was 10% health, and a 60 second cooldown. So it's now doubly effective, and happens twice as often, so a 400% buff.

I do like having companions actaully feel useful (unlike that other DnD based mmo where they are imo worthless), but they need to have limits. Atm there essentially unlimited, immortal god beings that will constantly heal you without fail. They can never really die, as you can simply resummon them at will, instantly. Some limitations and drawbacks need to be added to balance out there power.

Though really the main problem with low lvl play is no outside healing is needed at all, even with sloppy play. It's all quite easy in groups so no one is ever really taught how to play the game or to care about teamplay.. Button mashing and the odd potion works fine in groups seemingly up to at least level30. It's a major issue with the devs idea of ramping difficulty over levels.

Inevitably the careless players who dont want to learn will get to high level where there is seposedly some challenge, complain that suddenly there playing a different game, and demand change.

My cleric companion dies a lot.. maybe I'm doing something wrong *shrugs*. I'm lvl 25 with a rank 11-12 cleric and she pulls aggro like no other. As far as I'm concerned she isn't some healing god that cant die. Seeing how there seem to be different problems for different people I think each person's situation is different. I ran a dungeon with a party with 3 cleric companions.. It wasn't a cake walk.. they pulled so much aggro they died right away.
