So HAMSTER around towards the end of the last beta weekend, and got to level 10. I ended up rather enjoying it. To the point that I could see myself playing it when the game launches. My only problem is I don't like to play Healing classes. Never have. Never will. But one thing I couldn't help but notice that the class has a lot of indirect healing built into its abilities. So I'm curious if it'd be possible to play the class as a DPS while still healing to a degree.

Wrong! Full attack cleric is spelled as Fzoul Chembryl.

Yes, I did very little direct healing with my Cleric. I relied on Astral Seal for the majority of my healing, with Sun Burst or Channel Divinity charged spells providing the rest.

Spells like Forgemaster's Flame are great for DOTing and weakening your opponents while simultaneously healing party members who are attacking it.
Clerics in this game are very different. An integral part to insuring the survival of your teammates will be finding the right spells to attack your opponents with.

Absolutely. I ended up taking all my direct heals off the bar. That left me with indirect heals as you mention, had an offensive cleric and one heal (which is defaulted in) which was the best heal anyway (up to level 25) that uses the Special Power Divinity toggle and holding down RMB. Since I didn't have to direct heal often at all, but when I did (1% of the time), I had that and it mattered and it didn't make me feel like a slave healer. This isn't a typical cleric by any games standards.

Yep. You can be full attack Cleric and only slot Healing Word (seems best to layer up DoTs)
Divinity 'mode' helps out quite a bit too.
When you hit T4 feats and get Repurpose Soul, your big crits will become sweet heals for the melee.
I never did seem to need (or maybe want) a 3rd DPS power. Think Chains would be a decent choice for CC and damage.
Really don't need much other than Forgesmaster's and Daunting Light lol
